My girlfriend at the time (Ellen) couldn’t come, so I drew her as a platypus and brought her to get signed by the vlogbrothers.

Do they remember signing a platypus? Probably not.

Okay, so this one I’m hugely proud of.  It’s full of references.  There’s the cigarette, obviously.  Notice, however, that it is unlit.  The smoke is actually made of the shadows of tree branches on snow.  Note also the wedding ring and the “victory” brand name.  The best part, however, is probably the window.  It’s a picture of an actual tree from Amsterdam that Anne Frank wrote about in her diary.  Best of all, it died in part from decaying from the inside out.  (It’s like tree cancer!)  Talk about metaphorical resonances.

So here’s my new tattoo. My head kind of hurts. And so does my arm. I wish I could have videotaped me getting undressed because OH MY GOD was that hilarious because I couldn’t really lift my arm.

But yes. Totally worth it. (Also, sorry I couldn’t video tape it, I was too preoccupied with the fact that apparently when you get tattooed on your inner arm your hand goes numb and sometimes the pain can shoot into your foot.)

ALSO YES, IT’S A QUOTE FROM ON OF JOHN GREEN’S BOOKS. AH YES. SO MUCH LOVE FOR MY FAVOURITE AUTHOR EVER.

Every single time I see someone with a John Green quote tattooed on them I become consumed with extreme amounts of jealousy.
